Adam Jeselnick Architect is a full-service design studio specializing in custom residential architecture, as well as restaurant, hospitality and multi-family residential projects in Carmel-by-the-Sea and the Monterey Peninsula. Founded in 2013 by Adam Jeselnick AIA, we pride ourselves on creating meaningful, long-lasting works of architecture uniquely matched to each client, the project’s intended use, and the surrounding natural or urban landscape. The firm’s contemporary design vision is matched by a longstanding commitment traditional building forms and styles, and we are dedicated to bringing craft and comfort to interior spaces that connect seamlessly to the natural environment.
Our Process
When embarking on new projects, we are inspired by the site location (genius loci or spirit of the place) and the client’s vision to create a concept that matches their dreams for the project. We use our hard-earned knowledge of local building codes, ordinances and guidelines to create a framework for layers of design and construction that blend art, architecture, and landscape. Each pencil line drawn at the start of the creative process represents an expansive view to the outdoors or well-proportioned room, designed with the knowledge of sustainable construction materials and advanced building technologies.
About Adam
Adam Jeselnick studied architecture at the University of Notre Dame’s School of Architecture, where his program included a year spent abroad in Rome, Italy, to learn from the classical buildings and traditional urban design found throughout Europe. He graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch.) from Notre Dame, magna cum laude, in 2004.
After graduation, Adam started as a designer for Perlman Architects in Scottsdale, Arizona where he contributed to a diverse array of work ranging from new community master plans, single- and multi-family residential projects, and custom homes. He then spent several years as the Senior Project Manager for Troon Golf representing owner interests for the development of private golf clubs and resorts around the world. Upon moving to California in 2009, Adam joined an established local architecture firm, where he managed custom residential design projects including the LEED-certified transformation of two mid-century modern homes in Carmel-by-the-Sea, a dramatic cliff-side estate in Carmel Highlands, and the restoration of a historic landmark coastal property in Big Sur.
Adam launched his eponymous firm, Adam Jeselnick Architect, in 2013, with a focus in the areas of custom residential design, innovative local businesses, sustainability, and adaptive reuse. Notable recent commercial work includes the Seventh & Dolores Steakhouse, The Pocket Residences and courtyard, and The Dance Center. Adam is a licensed architect in the State of California and a legacy LEED Accredited Professional. In his time away from the office, Adam enjoys exploring the beautiful natural landscape of coastal California, hiking and running, and writing poetry.
