The owners of this small mid-century cottage hired Adam to design a new, larger home with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms to more comfortably accommodate their extended family.  This is being achieved on the narrow lot by demolishing the existing house and building a 2-story Craftsman-style residence with 1,792 square feet.  The design includes a side entry to a family room with a large west-facing window, and a small balcony on the upper floor.  Adam worked extensively with the planning staff to achieve all necessary permits from the City of Carmel.  The project was approved in collaboration with the public works, planning and building departments to address existing utility easements, several significant coastal oak trees, and drainage.
